Robinson's 3rd Grade Visits Hale Farm & Village

Hale Farm and Village is an outdoor living history museum staffed with working exhibits maintained by the Western Reserve Historical Society.  Students were able to see a blacksmith making tools, a seamstress spinning thread to later dye and weave fabric for clothing, and a glassblower make lanterns.

The Hale Farm side of the property provides a window into farm life in the early 1800s which required hard work and cooperation among all family members to raise livestock, farm crops, and grow gardens to survive in a fairly new and rugged world.  The other side of the property demonstrates how an early village functioned as a community, using a market system and access to the canal to trade goods and services with others.
