March 2019 Principal's Message

Dear Robinson Family,

The students, teachers and parents have worked hard all year. Even with winter still here, Mother Nature is warming her days and saying to them: “Don’t worry about homework now. Come out and play.” There’s bike riding, basketball, and hanging out with friends, all very tempting. We all love spring, and we, too, want to get out of the house, but we have to all guard against our “spring fever.” Finally, we will continue to challenge, encourage and teach your children. And, we are asking you, as your child’s role model and parent, to please continue to reinforce the importance of education in this last quarter.

Attendance is important for educational and future success. Thank you for calling the school when your child is going to be absent or tardy. I can’t stress how important it is for your child’s safety when you call the office first thing in the morning. When students are absent, late, or leave early, their academic success is put at risk.

I want to thank all the parents who are reading with their child for at least fifteen minutes nightly! If your child is not yet reading nightly, please continue to encourage them so that they may gain a love for reading, along with receiving the next treats offered in the Robinson Reading Program. For the month of March, please make sure that you are signing your students’ Reading Log nightly, and they will may be invited to a special activity in the first week of April. With the hard work going on here at Robinson and at your home, academic success is just around the corner for each of our students.

Finally, April 19th , is Good Friday (School and Office Closed); April 22th, students begin SPRING BREAK, I hope that students as well as their families, enjoy this short relaxing time. Students return for classes on Monday, April 29th.
