Dear Robinson Family,

The first big snowfall will soon be here and the first snowmen of the season will be created in the yards across Akron! Thank you for sending your children to school dressed for the weather. A hat and warm coat along with plenty of rest at night can help keep away winter illnesses. Again, we try to get out for recess every day as long as it is not below 20 degrees. School will be open unless otherwise stated on local TV, radio, the APS website or a call from the Akron Public Schools all call system.

Please remember to call the school office 330-761-3170 to report an absence before 9:00 a.m. It is important for two reasons. The first is to be sure your child is safe and in no danger, and second, it allows our office to maintain accurate attendance records for your child. If your child misses the bus, we thank you in advance for making every effort to get your child to school.

Students leaving early for appointments will not be called out of the classroom until the parent or guardian has signed them out in the office. Please arrive before 2:15 p.m. if you need to pick-up your student before dismissal.

Teachers are not available for a conference without an appointment. We welcome parents visiting our school and the teacher with an appointment. Please obtain a visitor’s permit from the office before going to any classroom or area outside the main office.

I want to thank all the parents who are reading with their child for at least fifteen minutes nightly! If your child is not yet reading nightly, please continue to encourage them. With the hard work going on here at Robinson and at your home, academic success is just around the corner for each of our students.

Finally, winter break begins December 20, 2021 and school resumes on January 4, 2022. Also, there will be No School for Students on January 3, 2022 due to Instructional Improvement Day for teachers. For those who will be traveling over the holiday, our wishes also include a safe journey.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Churn
