Dear Robinson Family,

The first big snowfall will soon be here and the first snowmen of the season will be created in the yards across Akron!  Thank you for sending your children to school dressed for the weather.  A hat and warm coat along with plenty of rest at night can help keep away winter illnesses.  Again, we try to get out for recess every day as long as it is not below 20 degrees. School will be open unless otherwise stated on local TV, radio, the APS website or a call from the Akron Public Schools all call system.

Please remember to call the school office 330-761-2785 to report an absence before 9:00 a.m.  It is important for two reasons.  The first is to be sure your child is safe and in no danger, and second, it allows our office to maintain accurate attendance records for your child. If your child misses the bus, we thank you in advance for making every effort to get your child to school.

I want to thank all the parents who are reading with their child for at least fifteen minutes nightly!  If your child is not yet reading nightly, please continue to encourage them so that they too may receive the next treats offered in the Robinson Reading Program.

As a reminder, Digital Learning Path Diagnostic I-Ready (Reading & Math) for our students will begin the week of December 10.  Please make sure your students(s) are getting enough sleep.

With the hard work going on here at Robinson and at your home, academic success is just around the corner for each of our students.

Our primary staff would like to thank Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Members who came out and served food and gave each child a book, andChef Ben and Colleagues of Hilton Hotel for donated money for ALL the food and supplies. They also helped seat students for our Thanksgiving feast. Finally, we would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Ariel from the Goodyear Library for reading to our students before the Thanksgiving feast.

Finally, winter break begins December 23, 2019 and school resumes on January 7, 2020.  Also, there will be No School for Students on January 6, 2019 due to Instructional Improvement Day for teachers.

For those who will be traveling over the holiday, our wishes also include a safe journey.

Anthony S. Lane
