Dear Robinson Family,

As winter arrives, please remember to send your children to school dressed for the weather.  A hat and warm coat, along with plenty of rest at night, can help keep away winter illnesses. Again, we try to get out for recess every day as long as it is not below 20 degrees.  School will be open unless otherwise stated on local TV, radio, APS website, or a call from the Akron Public Schools all call system.

Please DO NOT ask to have your child wait in the office for pickup. If you must pick up your child before the end of the day, when you arrive, we will call your child to the office for you to sign him/her out. We will make our best effort to ensure they are ready to go as quickly as possible.

If your child must be picked up after 2:45 pm, our student must exit the building during dismissal and be escorted back into the building at 2:45 pm by Administration. If you pick your child up after 2:45 pm you MUST sign them out.

Going into the New Year, thank you to all the parents who have spent evenings reading with your children.  Reading has become a huge success here at Robinson.  Students will continue to receive prizes for their reading.  Remember students are asked to obtain one signature a night.  Reading is the key to success for all of our students.

Again, we thank you for your support in having your child arrive at school on time and prepared for the day.  Please remember to call the school before 9:00 a.m. if your child is ill and will be absent.  It is important for two reasons: The first is to be sure your child is safe and in no danger, and second, it allows our office to maintain accurate attendance records for your child.  Also, please remember to send a signed note to your child’s teacher if your child is to be dismissed outside the arranged routine.

As we continue to impact the students at Robinson, we have raised the standards for those attending the HONORS BANQUET at the end of the year. Students must reach the standard of honor or merit roll for at least three grading periods. We continue to encourage high standards for ourselves, our students, and our families.

With the hard work going on here at Robinson and at your home, academic success is just around the corner for each of our students.

Finally, the winter program was wonderful with many of our parents in attendance. Thanks to Mr. Kline, teachers, and students, all of whom made this event a huge success!

Sincerely,

Anthony S. Lane
